Moving and Handling in Health & Social Care
Added on 21/06/2024Full Description
Inspire training offers Moving and Handling for health and social care, this course is suitable for both new and experienced staff and anyone else working or providing health and social care.
This one-day course incorporates theory and practical elements. Moving people safely coupled with dignity and respect is at the forefront of our course. We have a fully equipped simulation room where delegates can practice and hone their skills in this area.
All of our equipment is inspected regularly and can be used for practical demonstration. Delegates will also learn about the equipment and how to inspect, ensuring it is safe for use.
As we have fully useable equipment and a simulation suite, delegates can experience being moved and handled thus understanding how this feels. They will practise using hoists and slings with each other whilst being guided by the trainer. We believe this is intergral to learning and aids in our goal of coupling dignity and respect with manual handling safely.
We cover dynamic risk assessments in emergency situations and what to do if assessments become outdated or incorrect.
The delegates will be taught the law and legislation, which is kept up to date by our trainer’s membership of the National Back exchange and working in partnership with other professionals.
This course also covers the importance of pressure area care and postural management, a crucial element of providing safe and effective care to individuals.
