We explore both residential and private settings, how to store medication and how to achieve best practice in all these environments.

We can bespoke the practical element by using your own MAR charts and other documentation, this would need to be arranged before the course date. We can provide paper training MAR charts and other documentation, but these are generic and may not fit your training requirements. We also appreciate that many care providers are now using digital care planning, and we are more than happy to include this within your training.
This course emphasises the importance of accurate record keeping and dispensing of medication which is vital in preventing unnecessary medication errors.
We will demonstrate effective use of the British National Formulary (BNF) app to help participants recognise side effects whilst also providing person centred care by being able to explain to the individual what the medication is for.
We cover what to do in the event of an overdose or other medication error and can also align this to meet your policies and procedures.
The course has an accompanying workbook and written test which contains the information taught and is returned to the delegate after marking for future reference.
